Just got a Golden Dwarf

Just got a call from my LFS, they got a golden dwarf in, and i went by and picked it up. very pretty marbled pattern with a very yellow tail. I will post pics when he stops hiding.

What foods have you tried feeding it? Most love squid and octopuse

Wow I cant believe his already eating usually really shy and takes couple days to eat

i think he was really hungry or something, he ate yesterday but did not eat today. i will try again on saturday or sunday. but he seems fine otherwise.

Well I know they dont have to eat every day but when they do they gorge themselves so I think your good!

I have one as well. It is still quite small, so I feed it every 2-3 days. Mine loves fresh scallops, shrimp, and clams. If it is not feeding time, I rarely see mine though.

I have a couple of pics from when they were acclimating. I bought a naturally collected pair, but the male (at least what I thought was the male) did not make it through QT. He never accepted any food (frozen, fresh, etc).

I am currently in Las Vegas but will post some pics once I get home.

As for longevity, I would assume they could live quite some time (5-7+ years) in the aquaria provided ample variety of food, shelter, and reduction of stress.

I recently purchased a golden dwarf as well. It ate starting the second day and eats every thing. I usually just see its head sticking out of the rocks, but tends to come out to eat.

well, he has not eaten since the first day (last wendesday). he did eat a good amount, but im still a little worried. is this normal? should i try feeding him at night, or should i try another type of food. he ate mysis the first day, but has shown no interest in mysis or krill.
