Rics are pretty cool. I've never seen the color morph in my middle picture. The green and purple is very unique, in that the purple is on the tips as well. It is almost like trying to break out of the cool mint green. That particular piece is actually a "salvage" piece.
It had been ripped almost completely in half by the vendor, and it was going to suffer a long slow death. I bought it for a really cheap price to try to nurse it back to health. Vendor probably thought it was best to get some cash for it than letting it die.
I dropped him into my tank, and it looked bad because the mouth was damaged. The next day, the whole ric had separated into 2 pieces and completely fell off the rock it was on. Not good. So I had to rubberband it into 2 seperate pieces. I give the half with the mouth the best chance to survive. Cross my finger and hope it doesn't melt.
