Good for you Teej! Can't wait to see this go up! Watching the build!

I'll be making a dedicated build thread soon... but don't get too excited about seeing anything completed anytime soon. This build will definitely be S-L-O-W.

i like the bracing its perfect apart for 3 MH
I agree... I was also thinking about using T5's though.

I have a 6 bulb 48" retrofit kit on my 90, and was thinking about tranferring that over and adding some 24" bulbs. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet though.

Are you going to be putting the sump in the stand or in basement/fish room? If you are putting it under the stand I vote no closed loop. My 180 is the same footprint using a 75 gallon sump with a closed loop, I am literally in the middle of plumbing it and am quickly running out of room. It is really turning out to be a royal pain. I am going to have a difficult time expanding at all. IE calcium reactor or dosing pump.

If I were to do it again I would do an external coast to coast overflow, with a remote sump or I would utilize powerheads. Just my two cents.
As of right now, it's going to go under the stand... Depending on how much room I have I may build a cabinet to sit beside the tank to house extra equipment.

I'm also considering going through the wall into the garage for the sump, but the temp fluctuates quite a bit in the garage depending on the time of year. So I'm not sure how I would be able to control it.

I'm also looking into the external coast to coast overflow, but I'm not sure how it would be set up. It sounds like I would have to have the back glass shaved down, and I'm unsure how this will effect the structural integrity of the tank.

How did you plumb your closed loop?
