Does anyone have any tips for macro photography? i have basic slr knowledge and would like some helpful hints for taking macro photos of fish and coral
For aquarium and corals specifically...
Use a tripod...
Use a mid to small aperture somewhere between 11 and 16 depending on what you are shooting etc.
While we are at it, use Av and keep your ISO as low as possible
Scrape the algae and wipe the outside of the glass down
Turn off all pumps/powerheads and any other water movers.
Shoot in RAW
The best instructions i have come across is on rimlessreef.com on the left hand side of Sonny's blogs there are dates that link you to certain things he delt with while perfecting his tank. I think it might be in the march 2009 you will see it. If it not there then just keep going up the links. Hope this helps it helped me ALOT !!!!
I was just playing with my husbands camera yesterday then he walked in the the a caught me with the new macro lens. It takes some great photos of the every little thing in the tank. i wish i could give you more tips. just play with it a lot.
