I have been looking for a good way to frag frogspawns and hammers for quite a while now (both branching type). I tried the dremel, but I felt like I was torturing the coral by taking too long and the smell of burning coral flesh was none to appetizing to me.
I had seen the snippers at the aquarium stores for about $20 or more and was tempted, except the price point sounded a bit high to me. I was at Target (sold as pruning shears in the lawn and garden section) and saw these for about $7 a while back and have used them several times to frag both my hammers and frogspawns with great success. They make a nice clean cut and you can guide them easily right where you need to cut. I just realized too that they are "rust resistant" which doesn't do much with saltwater, but I just rinse them very thoroughly each time I use them in tap water and then air dry them.
