Now my question is the 16 Gal too small for a seahorses? Have a 40 breeder as my main tank. let me know ideas for the 16 NUVO THANKS!

yeah its to small for big SH and prob. to bit to big for the small one to. ( but I am not expert just hang around the SH forums)

how about a Macro algae tank? something different...that is what I would do. or if your heart is really set on SH sale it and then set up a SH tank.

There are dwarf seahorses but they need a very small tank, 2.5 to 5.5 gallons because of the high density of live food that they need. A 16g would require you to hatch a huge amount of live baby brine shrimp.
Even the smallest of the greater seahorses should have a bigger tank than a 16 gallon.

You may not even want to set that tank up though. Nuvo 16s are notorious for cracking. Might be why the LFS was trying to get rid of it anyways.

Species specific sea horse tanks are awesome - blue stripe pipefish would be sweet for that...they'll do their dance - the 16 gallon should be just enough room for them, I wouldn't go smaller - and prob would do better in a 24...but if it was only then and maybe some
Sexy shrimp...might be a sweet little peaceful thing to look at - the sexies should be too large to eat, they're pod eaters anyways...
