Hiii alll...

Any one have juv gold flake angel in reeftank??? can nip coral or not??? please share...

thanks...

I have a 1.5" goldflake in my reef tank. originally was in a in tank refugium but the suctiopn cup failed and the refugium slip[ below the water level] and it got out. it's loving the reef. last night I saw it picking on the acans. hasn't touch the hammers, torches or frogspawns. no noticable damage yet to the acans. I'm keeping my fingers cross the acans mke it, the tank is 31" high[can't reach the bottom]so I can't catch it. hopefully by the end of the year I'll upgrade this tank to a 180 that 24" deep. According to how the acans fair whether it stays in the reef or not.

Eating LPS and Zoas doesnt make it not reefsafe just not safe with those as are pretty much all large angels should be fine with SPS and softies as long as kept well fed.

All Angels carry some risk in Reefs. I'm even hearing about Genicanthus pickng at coral. Anyway, at that size, the damage *SHOULD* <G> be minimal.
Remember this is coming from the lunatic with a C. bicolor in his reef! LOL

When it gets bigger the risk to your corals will increase.

There is no fish that is "ReefSafe" in actuality IMHO

I second that "reefsafe" is a term that needs to die a quick death. All fish eat something so the key is just not adding the things that you want to keep that you dont want your fish to eat.
