Juvenile Mocha Clown(s)

I live in Jackson, WY and our closest real city is Salt Lake City, 4 hours away. I have a 29g biocube with a light and chaeto growing in refugium and an overall very stable tank.

yesterday while on the way back from SLC, i stopped at our favorite fish store and purchased 2 juvenile mocha clowns for our tank. they traveled well, looked fine, acclimated fine, and were showing normal signs of adjustment last night after being placed in the tank (i dont have the QT setup yet) and were picking at the flakes i put in. I only had the moonlight on while acclimating them and releasing them. they swam around, high in the water column and to let them rest, i turned off the moonlight and let the tank be dark overnight. i checked before going to bed with a small flashlight, one was still swimming high, one had gone down to the lower rock work and was chillin.

This morning, the high swimmer was still boppin around high in the water column (but does swim lower in the tank now and has been exploring) but the other one is no where to be found at all. i havent moved the rocks around but i have searched thoroughly with no luck. now, when i say juvenile, i mean 1/2" in size, so very small. i have multiple rubble piles but cannot find him in there either.

Does anyone have experience with one clown hiding for 24hrs or more but still being alive? we havent hit the 24 hour mark but with every hour, i feel less confident

I have amphipods of all sizes and copapods so if there is a chance he is just hiding, i feel that he will be ok with live food, but i am more concerned he is dead. thans!

Have you checked in top corners / behind pipe work etc? They can definitely find a safe place and just hover back and forth for 24 hours+

ive looked behind all rock i can see and in the overflow to the best of my ability. its a small *** fish and i hope its just chilling for now. it was eating last night so i feel like it was healthy and ok vs stressed
