kalk reactor in top-off bucket?

I've been thinking about places I can put my kalk reactor and I have a few options. The best one, from what I can see, is just to put the reactor inside of my top-off bucket (a 20 gallon rubbermaid). Since it is 20 gallons, it's plenty big and I'm not losing that much volume to the reactor. This would also guard against any leaky connections as the only plumbing that would then leave the top-off bucket would be a small hose to push the top-off water up into my display. I know I probably need to guard against back flow from the reactor into the top-off container for when the top-off pump shuts off (although I don't think that would be a national tragedy). I was just wondering if there are any reasons I'm not seeing that this might be a really bad idea.

The Tunze kalk "dispenser" lives in the topoff bucket -- so I don't see any problem with this. The main drawbacks IMO would be having a wet lid to deal with when adding new kalk powder. You can guard against too much backflow by the way you coil the tubing to the sump/tank. I'd make sure all the connections were super good, though. Leaks of kalkwasser are not desirable even if they are contained within the reservoir.
