kalk reactor users

How do you know when it is time to clean out the hydroxide sediment and put in fresh kalk? It looks like there is more powder in the bottom now than there was when I started but its still keeping my ph up. I just dont want to wait too long and have my ph drop just to bring it up again.

Well I think I'll answer it myself and see what happens. I went home tonight and the ph was a little low for the lights being on so I looked in the reactor. The solution was grey and sort of wierd looking, like it wasnt mixing evenly. I guess thats how you know.
