Kalk sediment pumped into tank?

So, yesterday morning I noticed my pump had decided to pump in a fair amount of kalk sediment from the bottom of my ATO unit.

I did a 20g water change, needed to anyway, but my tank is really cloudy still, a day after. Also have calcium percipitate all over the glass that I need to razor blade off.

Things seemed ok yesterday, my SPS look ****ed off today :(

How concerned should I be? Any thing I should do?

Probably not a big deal unless the sediment has been accumulating for a long time in the bottom of the ATO unit. Kalk does precipitate a number of things out which accumulate over time in the sediment. See some of Randy's articles. Some people even dose a kalk slurry and sould dissolve before doing any damage.

It was down in the ATO for a couple months or so.

Well hoping everything is fine. a couple pieces of coral look upset. My alk jumped way up.

Keep im mind when dosing kalk. It is normal to have SOME preciptation inside the tank. For example, having some precipitation on your liverock..

Ph is in normal range... its like my glass is clouded or something.

One coral is closed up and not happy. :-\

It's happened to me many times. The precipitate is mostly insoluble calcium carbonate so it's not going to have much affect apart from the appearance, but it may irritate some corals. If your pH, calcium and Alkalinity are all fine, just run a filter sock- type setup and it'll all get cleared up.
