Did it pop up in your tank, or are you looking into buying one?

no it was a small frag from a lfs - paid a couple of bucks for a 3 inch specimen. Figured I'd give it a try.

It might make it, but chances are that it probably won't. I have a small blueish-purplish sponge that seems to grow in every tank. We spread it by fragmenting it.

There are two kinds...the hard and soft ones. I don't know which one I have as the soft ones also feels solid. They grow slowly but are not difficult. Need decent water flow and lights. The ones that I have are growing under 2x40W PC lights on a tank that is 16" high.
