Keeping LR Live(?)

I have a good deal on LR from a friend which would need to be purchased soon. However, my display tank wont be operational for another couple of months or so.. Was thinking of using my quarantine tank (29gal) to "store" LR for next couple of months. (it wouldn't hold all the LR I would need by a long shot, but would help make a "dent" in overall amount I'd need to buy). Would have heat, "cheesy" lighting (fluorescent bulb), water, active filtration. Can LR live on "just that" alone for 2 mos? OR should I just forgo it and look for LR when I'm ready?
Would appreciate any thoughts/comments.

If its still going to be a few months before your tank is done I would buy it and let it dry out. This way you can store the rock and just re-seed it when you get your tank up and running.

After your tank is set up it will become "live" again in no time.

You can keep it live as long as you have heat and flow. You dont really need lights. The light of day will be fine for rock. Make sure you have a skimmer and or do water changes to keep the water quaility good.

exactly just put it in a brute trash can with a heater and a powerhead that's all you need.

Back to square 1.... Rock offered had mostly all been sold by time I got there yesterday. Will continue to work on stand and hope to have a tank w/ water by end of Mar.
Thx for all the info though and offers for containers. Much appreciated.
