keeping sand clean

so i currently have a 75 g with CC and i just started a 29g and i used live sand i currently have a hob for 100 gal on it and one power head thesand seams to be getting a coat of waste on it looks light brown in color is there a way to keep this from happening

It sounds like the normal algae that a newer tank gets. Scrape what you can and just wait it out.
