keeping the water clear

hey whats up guys, i have a question on keeping water crystal or around crystal clear, heres what im using. 50 gallon tank 48lbs of live rock ( was cured in the tank, tank is now 1 month and a week old ) i am using a cascade 1500 canister filter with 3 bags of carbon, and various pore size floss pads. Im also using a Red sea prizim skimmer (soon upgraded to a Remora Pro with surface skimmer) and 2 sieo 400 power heads. i usually do 5 gallon water changes a week using R/O water but ive uped it to 10 gallons every 4 days because i am battling a small diatom problem (used tap water for cycling. Learned my lesson.) Now my tanks water isnt yellow by any means, it is just slightly hazey. Is my tank just not mature enough yet? or is there something else i can do to make it clearer?. I used to have a 58 gal tank and i dont remember having this problem but of course i didnt cure LR in it either... any help would be greatly appreciated.

a skimmer will make a difference in the water color but suggest looking into a better hang on skimmer

remora pro is as good as the prizim if you can get the prizm to work correctly

also

make shur you dont over feed the tank

Are you sure your tank is done the cycle?
That haze could be amonia or a bacteria bloom.
What are your parameters?

PH 8.2 and my nitrate is at 6.0, im doing water changes to try and lower the nitrate and there is absolutley positivley no yellow in the water, the only way i can explain it is, if u look facing the tank the water is clear but if you look long ways down the tank its hazey. My 58 was always clear.

This happened to me a couple months ago when I put in some new carbon........I don't know what happened but for 3-4 days I had the same type of haze. I changed the carbon out for some new (from the same batch) and it went away. Maybe I forgot to rinse it the first time?

eee

No argument from UV for me. I had the same problem and UV sterilizer cleared the tank right up. Ozone is also a good way to clear up yellow water. :)
