Kessil light question

Hi Guys!

I'm building my new tank. My question is, would a Kessil A160W Tuna Blue LED light be enough for my tank or need 2 of these or a Kessil A360W Tuna Blue could do the job? Tank size 55 cm tall 65 cm deep and 80 cm wide. I will keep mainly soft coralls, lps and a probably a few fish. ( Amphiprioninae etc..)

Thx

Hey there - welcome to RC!

You would need at least two of the A160's, and you might not be happy with the spread and penetration, but if you are keeping lower light corals, you should be fine. If I were using two of the A160's, I would supplement with perhaps two 24" T5 bulbs, for better reduction of shadowing, and punch to the sand bed. Two Kessil 360's would be better, and would allow to keep pretty much anything in the tank - including trying some SPS toward the top if you want (which you probably will!) The 360's are also an investment that can move with you when you upgrade to a larger tank (which you probably will!) Albeit, they would be about $300 more than two A160's.

Thank you for the quick reply. I was also considering the 360's but the budget only allows 1 360's or 2 A160's. Of course I can buy regular ATI T5 lamps but the kessel's light just incredible. I guess 1 360's wouldn't solve my problem but what if I buy this to get started and later buy 2 of these?
