kessil350 or maxspect razor

I was thinking of getting one or the other and at the same time I was thinking of getting another MH (digging the shimmer look) I am not sure which route to go without spending a butt load of money. Any thoughts, comments or personal experience?
 
You can see my kessil a350 in person if you like. Kessil has way more shimmer, like a halide, because it has a smaller point source. Way more compact as well. Like a big can of peaches. If you get the kessil make sure to get the narrow. The a350w (wide) will be too wide for a 24. Maxspect has built in timer and will have less shimmer but might have less shadow areas because of the leds being spread out more. I do know a person with a Radion on a small reef. He doesn't like it because you can see the different led colors on the rocks. Maybe too close to a smaller tank with not enough distance to spread the spectrums together. You need the different led colors to "come together" close to the lens for a small tank. Otherwise you will either get the issue he has or have to mount it high up and have a lot of light shine on the canopy or ground. You need a narrow spread for a smaller tank.
 
I agree, but they are unigue . Compact, adjustable, and powerful. 90 watts led out of a unit 5ish inches diameter. Its got to be the most light output per sq inch on the market.

Kidkaos250 if you can get up to phx check out reef monsters... Jorrell can get you a better deal on a Kessil than you will find anywhere online
 
He is a nice guy just spoke with him. Hate to spend that much money but can't use my ati on the tank and the sunpod is just not working for me. Anyone looking for a 24'' t-5 :) 225
 
I'm looking to light a 6 gallon Fluval Edge with an Ecoxotic PAR38. Seems like a lot of bang for $100. Maybe an option for you..?
 
I guess to justify the purchase if I decided to get something a little bigger I know this will handle it but Im tired of breaking down tanks so this is gonna have to do for a while
 
I would go with an AI sol, this is comming from someone who has owned both. I have one if you are interested, The only reason I will let it go is that I have a black and white one and you know how anal I am :) I will sale the white to buy a black so they both match. PM me if you are interested.

I like the look of the Kessil but for the same price the AI is way more controllable and looks just as good.
 
I ended up going with the a350 ocean blue....I had an AI but sold it bleached out some of my corals think I had it set to high. As far as cost goes just sold my old tank and if I get the lights sold I will break even so the only thing I am paying for is gas. Not to bad of a trade off I think.
