Hello everyone!

I would like to snorkel in the keys, though I'm not sure where to go.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks,

Kristy :)

the best snorkeling is in key largo and islamorada. Go to pennekamp state park. Key west is pretty good but you need a boat to get to the reef 5-7 miles off shore.

Another good spot is at the base of the bridge just south of Bahia Honda State park. The beaches along the state park are way too shallow. The hardest thing in the keys is finding a place deep enough to dive on. Unless you have a boat your choices are limited.

go to keysdiver right across from world water sports. you get the most bang for your snorkel buck. like 3 reefs including the christ of the abyss one for the price of pennekamp. and pennekamp sometimes is lazy and only takes you to grecian rocks if its slightly windy.

Islamorada - I have dove there many times with Bud and Mary's Dive Shop. They have good snorkel trips too. Places like minow caves and a couple of shallow reef areas.

i think looe key is one of the best sites in the keys. there are plenty of shops that will take you there. it isnt too far from key west etiher.

YES! That is an awesome place to snorkel. That's where we saw manatees a few months ago. Lots of awesome fish as well.

Bahia Honda Park is shallow and sandy, but you'll probably see 5.5 foot long stingrays and nurse sharks there. Not too bad for snorkeling.
