kh is low

225kh is the same as 11 dkh. I use the dkh reading and you want it between 8 and 12 dkh. What are your cal and Mg at?

my chart from api reef says that 12dkh is same as 214.8? my cal is at 460. and i dnt have a mag test. i dnt have any clams.

I got the reading from an internet search. I could be wrong. I use and api test, but from what I reed they are not to acurate.

I used a seachem addative to raise mine, half the recommended daily dose, and killed all my zoas, a cleaner shrimp, and a few dying LPS. Little did I know, and no warning from the unnamed seachem manufacturer, the Alk addative raises PH more than alkalinity. (the link I posted warns you of this, I had it sent to me after I posted a "whathe *uckis gong on" post.

I will use baking soda from now on until I can upgrade to a Ca reactor with C02.

Clams are not the only thing that you need to have magnesium for. pH, magnesium, calcium, and alkalinity all need to be stable to avoid precipitation.
