Hi all,
I'm very new (to the hobby) and am seeking help understanding a few things...

What is the difference (or is there one) between KH and dKH?

My test kit measures KH in mg/l, from what I have read recommendations for KH are stated in meq's. I know there's a difference between milligrams and milliequivelents but can't find a calculator to convert. My meager chemistry background isn't enough for me to figure this one out. Any help is appreciated.

an meq/l is equal to appx 2.8 dkh. I think kh is just short for dKH

Annette, Look up this handy conversion chart and print it out for reference. For all practical purposes, mg/l and ppm are the same.
