kick ich

Has anyone ever tried this? What has been your experience for those that have tried this?

The reason I ask, is because I tried this and it affected my corals. A lot of them got stressed out and bleached. Right now I am not a very happy camper. I have been maintaining a reef tank for 1 year now and now I got ich for the first time and I treated with this stuff and it screwed up my corals.

do you have a QT tank? A few of my fish have had ich, and i've just placed them in a different tank and lowered the salinity. That worked wonders for my blue tang.

I recently used kick ick, and I slightly overdosed it.

It didn't seem to affect my corals, and it did nothing to my ick either. I just spent the day setting up a 70 gal QT tank and draining my display to get the fish out.

hmmmm, maybe your kick ich was expired or something?

I've used it in a tank full of clams, SPS, anemone, zoas, LPS, etc will no ill effects to anything except the ich.

I never thought about it being expired since I just purchased it for that purporse. That would suck though. Can my corals become healthy again? I haven't experienced this yet and I want to make sure these corals come back to their original color.

LOL! Yeah Steve sold it me. Said it was reefsafe and would get the job done. However. ich took my 2 fish and somehow managed to stress out my corals.

I've heard that kick ich is hit or miss, depending on the particular strain of ich your fish have. I tried it on a FOWLR a couple of years ago and it didn't help at all - I lost most of my fish. Quarantine w/ hyposalinity works great for me.
