Killed birdsnest tips

Was hoping to get some help with my pink birdsnest. I realize now that I put in in the tank too early after the cycle. After my initial cycle tank was stabilized and thought it was time to start adding corals. Plus I got a really good deal on a very healthy pink birdsnest. Anyway shortly after I put it in I had a second algae bloom. Algae collected on the tips and killed the tips. The tank has once again stabilized and been so for about a month. There has been no further change in the birdsnest. Should I cut off the browned out/ dead tips to hope for new growth or is it better to leave them whole and have the polyps recolonize what is there?

Sounds like you might have rushed putting it in. I always wait at least 6 months before putting coral in tank, that might be a little overkill but the tank is much more stable.

Need to know your tank parameters, lights, equipment ect in order for people to help with problems. It just help with understanding your tank
