Kindof Off the Subject...

I was just on my patio and wondered if anyone here can answer this question. I need to replace the lower screens with the aluminum sheeting that you commonly see on screen enclosures. I know they must make it to match the different color of enclosures as I have seen different ones around. I have done research on the internet trying to find a place locally that sells it, but have yet to find anyone. Does anyone have and idea of someone in the Fort Lauderdale area that specializes in screen enclosures and has this product (most likely we'll install it ourselves). Let me know of any ideas! Thanx!

There's a place right around the corner from me, Can't remember the name, but they sell EVERYTHING screen and patio enclosure related. It's on Davie Road Extension, just south of Stirling Rd. As you're going south, there's a carwash, then a drive through farm store, then a u-shaped strip mall. It's in the strip mall (across from the retirement home). Next time you're around my area, drop me a line and I'll take you over there.

If it's the kick panel your describing(about 16" high or so at the bottom of screened room)then you should be able to get it at Home Depot-It will be rolled up & comes in 20' lengths if I remember correctly.

Actually, it's a substitute for the screening below the middle railing (about 36" high). So it would have to be about 36" wide and then cover the entire length. We have a cat that's an escape artist and he keeps finding the weak spots in the lower screen to get out. I figure the aluminum would put a stop to that real quick and look better to boot...and not blow out in a hurricane.

Beaver (my cat) figured out how to open doors by jumping up, grabbing the doorknob, and swinging back and forth until the catch released, which then lets her weight against the door push it open.

It's no problem with escaping, thanks to a deadbolt, but she sure likes tearing up toilet paper and paper towels.

It's just a matter of time till that cat learns to turn a deadbolt. :D

We have a maine coon cat that has also figured out how to open a few interior doors (levers, not the round knob kind).
