Koralia Controller

I just finished talking with the Hydor Sales Mgr. ..

Hydor will be introducing a New Line of Koralia's and a matching controller. The new line has a uni-directional motor and they will ONLY work with Hydors controller. Original units will not work with the controller. The new pumps will be about 20% more than the originals, and the dual controller will be about $309.00 retail. A four way controller will be introduced later at about $499.00 retail. NEAT STUFF.

But hey, even if they still turn out not to be comparable, more competition is a good thing, in the end.

ZBig difference....the pumps are retailing for about $69.00. Tunze controllable pumps are more than a little bit higher.

No doubt Tunze is as good as they get when it comes to CS. But I have never heard of any CS issues with Hydor.

someone had a thread about already using some kind of controller for their koralias. i thought it was tunze, but it was actually a seio. since they're $150ish i geuss 300ish is a good deal if you can plug 2 into each

currently you can use a controller with the Koralias. The issue has always been that they are multi-directional when they start. This means that they may run backward. The pumps, after running figure out the direction and will run correct. They other issue is the "chatter". The current version makes allot of chatter when starting and stopping. Not real desirable when you have multiple units set up. The controller is close in price to the Tunze's. But the pumps will save you money. The only down side is the NEW pumps will only work with the New controller.

how many watts to the tunze's use? Im pretty sure the #4 hydor only uses like 9watts so theres another bonus for them

So is this going to be the price for the new pumps?? Would that be equivalent to the 1 the 2 the 3 or the 4?? Are they going to make different pumps available? Just wondering?

Im guessin that will be for the #4, they normally retail for like 45.00-50.00 so with a 20% increase im gonna say its for a #4, i don't actually know but thats what i would say

yea that is for the #4, in addition they are coming out with the #5 & #6.

Saw these in action at the Global Pet Expo in San Diego last month. Very cool. They were telling people then that the first batch would be "on the water" in early march, which would indicate a late March, early April release. Here is a link:
