Koralia issue

I have my koralias on a wave maker and when the start up the prop moves up and down the rod and make a couple of bangs while they get going. It is annoying my wife. Anyone have and corrected this problem?

You can cut a small piece of airline tubing and put it between the prop and the guard.

Koralias aren't designed to be used on wave makers... The controllable Koralias, like the Tunzes limit the power supplied to the powerheads and do not cut it off completely... The chatter is normal upon startup... I know with Tunzes it voids the warranty to cut the power on and off too frequently... Not sure about the Koralias, but I wouldn't be surprised if it burns up the motor if you keep it on the wavemaker...

Cant justify laying out the money the money for a controllable system, so Other than just running them non-stop, I am not sure how else to do it.

Its the frequent stopping and starting that is hard on the motor... Tunze recomends that they are left on 15 minute intervals...

Yes, do to the fact that the "normal" koralias are A/C, when they start up, they can spin in either direction. The clutter is them flipping back and forth until it gets aligned the why they like. Some people have had some luck with the airline modification. Not sure if the hard stuff or flexible works better.
