bought a koran angel and heard that they pick at coral, iwas wondering if i could have mushrooms in my tank without him eating them? also have a blue tang and a lawnmower blenny.

Am I correct in assuming you have a koran angel and a blue tang in a 55 gallon tank? This is going to be an issue as both of these fish get large and will outgrow a 55 in very short order. You have received good info on the koran as this species is one of the more destructive towards corals. The angel may or may not nip the mushrooms but the lack of space is going to be your main concern. HTH

I have hitchhiker mushrooms in my FOWLR with several medium/large pomacanthus angels and they won't touch them. I had a puffer once eat them down to the stalks, but they grew back.

A good rule of thumb is that they will eat anything that you want to keep, yet ignore anything that you want gone. I would put nothing past them, but I think that the 'shrooms would probably be fine.

Many years ago I had a Koran in my 75 ( sold it because it was getting too big, which will happen for you too. )

Mine never once touched any of my mushrooms, even though I wish it would have.

I would imagine degree of toxicity, or 'taste' might have something to do with it. The Koran I kept years ago ate everything - even Palythoas. That guy was a monster, but one of the coolest, and easiest fish I've ever owned.

I agree with the previous post about fish eating only stuff you don't want them to. Like the Asfur that cleaned off an entire head of tricolor Symphyllia in an evening, after ignoring every coral in the system, Symphyllia included, for years. Needless to say she graduated to the FOWLR tank the next day.

Hmm, too bad my tank is too small, I could use some mushroom pruning! Of course, it would just go for the hard corals I want anyway..
