Hello all, i picked up a koran angel today going into my 180 that i have ordered and will arrive any day now. its currently in my 90 gallon and its about the size of a nickel. i understand that it will outgrow the 180 gallon which i am prepared for since i work at a lfs on my off time and have the means to trap it and return it when its approaching its time so my main question is in your opinion how long would a koran angel that is smaller than a quarter live in a 180g before its grown to big?

Mine was about quarter size when I got her last April. She is now about 5 inches long. So you will have some time before yours gets too big. You could also get a bigger tank and keep the fish. Just sayin' .....

I had a one inch Koran that grew to about 10" in two years in a 125gallon. After reaching that size her growth rate slowed down. At five years she had only grown another inch. Water quality may have had something to do with it. Nitrates were hard to keep down with all I fed her and a lion tank mate. Had to sell her when I moved. They are beautiful under rated fish as adults. As stated above they are bossy just like emporers. At least that was my experience. Good luck.

Im having trouble getting the koran to eat. The only thing its eaten that ive noticed is what little algae is on the rocks and some caulerpa I pulled from the sump. I feed my tank heavily with many different types of frozen to include lrs fish frenzy, finely chopped squid and oyster, and mysis. So far he has not even nibbled at anything. Im worried he isnt getting enough. He is very active and constantly picking on the rocks but I have little algae growing in the display since the caulerpa in the sump out competes anything
