Lace Rock

I wondered if anyone has had experience with Lace Rock in their salt water tanks. I have a ton left over from my freshwater days and want to use a few nicely shaped pieces. I have read that Lava rock is not good for salt water tanks but was wondering if anyone out there has had experience with LAce Rock. I have many lbs of cured LR in my tanks and it is all well established. I will not be using a ton of Lace, just a few nice shaped piece.

Any input would be helpful.

Thanks!

Lace rock is a very dense rock, not very light and porous like most other reef type rock (Fiji). It's like Tonga branch, very dense and heavy, it's safe to use but it's very very heavy. You could use a few nice pieces if you wanted for sure.:)

A couple of people have mentioned to me not to use Lava Rock, since it is unsure what the rock might be made of in terms of minerals. Not sure how true this is but at least I have been told this by a few folks.

just an aside, what was wrong with lava rock?

Thanks, I just ask because I've been using some as base rock for a few years now. When I originally researched I hadnt seen anything saying it was bad (other than a few people's opinion)
