I have been wondering about my Aquapod24. It comes with the 32w lamps, and i know that I can purchase the 40w that will fit the system as is. I would love to have a clam in my pod, will a clam survive if I put it up on the top of my rocks closer to the lamps?

Is there a way to upgrade the lamps to the mh type, or do I have to change out the entire top to purchase the unit itself?

Most clams really do best under MH, which would basically require a whole new top to your pod (nevermind the heat issues with small tanks and MH). Derasas can grow under bright PC lights, but its liable to outgrow your pod (1.5', and grows fast). Are there T5 retrofits for aquapods available? That could increase your light output to acceptable levels for other clams. I just don't have much experience with the Aquapods

If the ballast in the pod is set for 32W lamps, you're only going to get 32W of power out of them even if you put 40W lamps in.
