larger refugium for nano

I'm sure it's been done many times but I'd love to see examples of some nanos that might be plumbed into a larger refugium.
I'm looking at the 5g on my desk right now at work, and contemplating the fact that I could hide much more water down below while keeping the 5g as a display....

that was my last tank about 12 years ago before I got started again 2 years ago. My wife had a 10g and I suggested she convert to salt... a year later we had a 30g and I plopped a 5g on my desk at work which is about to get a light upgrade in 2 minutes when Amazon shows up, lol
