My reef is 65g with a55 gal sump fuge. In there reef is an 8" giganta, 2 percula clown fish, 2 bangi cardinals. and 1 mean old royal gramma.
Since none of my fish are herbavors. I tend to develope some Valonia, and the occasional patch of byropsis, this mostly happens when its time replace my ro/di filters. It is a little annoying.
I have agood population of trocus and nassarius snails. and I also have a zanzibar boxing shrimp, who is about 3" so kinda big. he recently wiped out 6 peppermint shrimp in just a few days.
Im looking for an herbivor / grazer type of fish.. that most importantly doesnt eat anemone's or coral like zoa's. Also the fish needs to be bold enough to be added to a rather small tank with larger adult fish who have established territorys.
im really looking for some expert advice. I am leaning towards a red sea sailfin tang, but it would have to be small and they are kinda delicate when they are small. I realize its not a good choice. I have had valopnia for a long time and I know nothing eats it. but fish that graze the rocks do then to slow it. I am also nervous to add any mithrax crabs not sure how they might get along with the shrimp and to be honest.. they dont really work well.
I guess it doesnt have to be a fish at all. just something that will graze plant life off my rocks and survive in my tank.
plz dont suggest a blenny or a sea hare.... and thanks for any advice.:wavehand:
