Leakage: worsening?

Well... I've been paying close attention to my tank. There is visible salt trails on the inside of my tank stand now. I don't remember seeing them before, but, I can't speak for my observance capabilities... ;)

On both ends of the stand on the inside, there are 3 or 4 streaks of dried salt.

Also, I noticed a couple drops of water on a cord. It's my auto top off cord. It wasn't in an electrical spot, just resting on the cord itself. Not sure where that came from. Both sides of the center brace have salt and water along the plastic molding.

I'm not sure if it's actually worsening or since I'm not drying it now it's just spreading out from the intial spot as more water leaks out. Other than the one spot on the cord there is no obvious signs of standing or dripping water inside the stand. The bottom of the stand is completely dry. Just the sides of the stand had some dried salt running down it.

I would not wait to find out. 55 gallons of saltwater is way more than I would want on my floor.

I agree it takes a gallon or 2 to make a big mess if you get a bad leak 55 gallons will likely destroy your entire room and anything under it. Just get a new tank and save the trouble.

Yeah, a leak isn't something that you want to guess about. If you can't find it you can't repair it and frankly I wouldn't trust a repaired tank.
