Just yesterday my new leather coral was happy with its polyps. Today I come home and the polyps are retracted and its slimmy. What is the slim and how can I help?
It could be just a mucas coating that leathers shed periodically. If flow is low you may need to help remove it with a baster or some other means of flow.
It's not uncommon for leathers to sluff off what appears to be their top layer of skin when acclimating to a new tank. More than likely, if your water quality is good, he'll be fine in a couple of days.
