Leather coral white edges

A newly acquired leather. I use Coral Rx dip for 15 mins. Does it look infected to you ?
Right edge is white and bald. Should I cut it and stop the infection?

It just looks closed up on the edge to me. It might have a got a bit singed from the dip or rubbing in the bag. Either way, give it some time it will open up fully. They're quite resilient.

I have a finger leather that I forgot in a peroxide dip for half an hour and half it's head looked like that for weeks. You can't even tell where the damage was now.
