Leather help needed!

Am an experienced reefer. All water perameters fine, lighting good, etc but my green leather is drooping and is on the way out. Have had it for 3-4 weeks and it has never looked happy. No visible trauma or problems. I have positioned it in different areas of the tank. Tank has lots of live rock, mushrooms, fish, all doing well. It has been set up for several months.
Looks like it is starting to disintigrate...should I try cutting off a few pieces and growing them?

what kind of leather is it? rasta, sinularia, devils hand?

don't exactly know. "Basic" leather, finger type, greenish hue. I cut branches off and "planted" them. Don't have high hopes but we will see. It just never expanded at all from I put in in the tank. Strange, as leathers are so automatic.
