Leather placement

Hi all,

I purchased a leather coral yesterday but I am having difficulties in attaching it. The foot is a bit of a funny shape (about 2 inches long, curved and with two small pieces of liverock on either side; im guessing where it was cultivated) because of this i cannot find any nooks to secure it.

My question is, is it ok to sandwich the foot between two pieces of live rock? The only I have, is where I want to place the leather; the base of the foot may be 'floating' and only the sides will be sandwiched. I assume the coral will not be happy like this but wanted to ask the experts first =0)

You can gently place the leather in between two pieces of rock and let it attach on its own. This will take weeks to fully attach and grow onto the other rock.

^^^^^^, what he said.
Then you can also get some nippers and cut down the rocks on the frag and stick it where you want

i would just glue the bits of rock it is attached to to a place you want it in your tank…it will encrust to what ever it touches after that…the hard part is already don't for you having it attached to rock already…now just find the spot and glue it in…i have always had good luck with loose rubber bands around the base to the rock…you can also shove a toothpick through the base and use elastics on either end to hold it to a rock…or as mentioned you can sew it down to the rock you want…you really can't hurt them. and squishing its foot in the rocks will work fine too...
