I've had a leather toadstool in my tank and it was doing well, opening right up and extending its tentacles. I changed my light yesterday and the mushroom has stayed shrivelled up since. Is this normal?
Yep...
Leathers even when you make no changes WILL close up for days/weeks and more..
Typically they do this to shed an outer layer of skin to remove algae,etc... on it..
They can also do this before experiencing a big growth spurt..
Totally normal though and as long as they aren't "melting" they are just fine..
I've had some leathers closed up for more than 2 months before only to come right back out happier than ever..
