Leather

I got a Leather from my lfs the other day. When I placed it in my tank he didn't extend his polyps for a day then he opened up amazingly for a few days, now hes back to no polyp extension. Is this normal or do I need to be afraid?

In my experience, until they become acclimated to your tank, that's fairly normal. Once acclimated, a healthy leather will open up while the lights are on, and typically withdraw its polyps at night when the lights are off. They're a pretty resilient soft coral, and I've not ever seen one actually die, but that's not so say they can't.

Just give it some time, and keep an eye on it.

They can just "die" from necrosis, which is the doom of most. Not water flow or light.

I would give this guy some time but if you notice places that dont look so good, be careful, they can start to disintegrate.
