Leathers

What does it take to get my leathers to look like this?? :(

prod_display.cfm

My green one is just a lazy thing and barely open, and my brown one hardly has any tentacles (what are those called anyway?) open and is laying his fat butt on the rock!!

I add iodide, strontium & molybdenum, calcium.....what else does he want??

You mention that you add all of the following:
iodide, strontium & molybdenum, calcium but are you making sure the tank actually needs the additional supplement of them? You really shouldn't add things unless you can test for them....Water changes will replenish most of these items but you may need to add if system is drawing more out than a water change can restore.

I have a few leathers and they look like in the picture. Mine will shrink up with high flow that is directed their way. They like to slightly move but not be blown around. Where is it placed in your tank. What kind of lighting is it under?

Multiple things could cause what you mention. Best bet would be to mention where its at in tank, lighting and what are your parameters? How long have you had it and what kind of flow?

With all of this info the coral gurus here will definitely help you out.

Like Phyxius said if you can't measure it don't add it, IMO many suppliments are simply put "snake oil" designed specifically to empty your wallet and otherwise useless .Don't get me wrong those essential elements are needed for the health of your creatures however they are supplied in your salt mix . the only additives I add are alk and calcium (B-ionic two part)
