Hi. what LED bulb is appropriate for chaeto growth in refugium?
preferrably one that is available at home depot.

thank you

My lfs sells some that work great. I've got to pull out cheato every 2 weeks and it's a gallon size bag each time. Even have about 5 mangroves that are growing good to. It's a pretty cheap bulb.

LED flood lights work great and are available at HD get the highest "Kelvin" rating you can find.. 6500k seems to work well..
Or pick up those red/blue plant lights on Amazon
like this https://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics-light-Hydropoics-Greenhouse-Organic/dp/B00GNWK2XO/

I'm getting the 36W version of the TaoTronics bulb. I'm going to grow mangroves and other interesting algae. Its a small compartment with a scrubber in a different one, so the main point of this one is going to be for the fun of it. I think I'll focus on the mangrove and feeder algae for pods and a tang. 36W should be plenty for that.
