Ok so i want to learn a little about building an led fixture never done it so i want to start small, i figured my refugium needs a new light anyways so
Basically im going to attempt to build a power saving algae growing refugium light
My thoughts :
As of now my fuge has a 24w cf bulb wit no reflector,
Grows algae great but its old, big, and sucks power
I figure if i make a small fixture
With crees 3w, like 4 of them?
Mayb 6?
I figure they run at like 2.1w each so thats still half the power i am using
Plus i wana build an led so
Am i wrong in thinking a small led fixture would work for a fuge light?
I would like to do this but what spectrum or BIN leds?
I know i want cree 3w
Also wat would be a good small driver & small heatsink?
This is no ordinary led build its a fuge light, it deffinetly doesnt have to be powerful!
But i want it to be adequate and futuristic
No more clunky cfl

Tank is 72 gallon bowfront fuge section is
11 inches wide 15 inches long
