LED moon lights in reef

Do you need LED moon lights in a reef or would corals be fine with out them?

corals will do fine without them. From what I understand, moon lights are more for A)spawning and b)to help you see your tank at night.

I have them so I can be cool but they are not needed.I have had them for a month and have seen no differance.

Actually IMO the fish act more naturally with them installed...and don't freak out when the lights go out.

They can also bring out some incredible colors in your tank inhabitants
