Hello all! I have a 16 gallon bowfront tank that, as of right now, has a barnacle blenny in it. My family has been begging me to add something a little more active, and who doesn't love clownfish. I want to put in a very small pair of clarkii clowns, less than an inch, that I realize will eventually need to be moved. I have never had a pair of clowns that have been hosted by any sort of anemone. I want to add a BTA but I know I don't have enough light. Right now I have a two bulb t5 10k and actintic, not HO. My only other light not being used right now is an Mu 100 LED from boostled that I know is BEYOND overkill. Link: ( http://www.boostled.com/product_p/mu100.htm) I was thinking of just getting a few LED par 30 bulbs and throwing those over the tank. BUT HERE IS MY PROBLEM, I have 2 young children at home, 3 and 1, and I am worried the 3 year old might try to put something in the tank. Anyone have any cheap suggestions for lighting strong enough for a BTA where I can still use the hood?

I'm not too familiar with your hood, but maybe you could try an AI sol nano. that would be sweet on a 16 gal.

I bought a some LEDs and a heatsink from rapidled for 150 but I also had two dimmable drivers you prob get one for a little less for a 16 gallon you would prob want about 20 LEDs for a 16 gallon tho
