It depends, if your corals are already acclimated to intense lighting, you could start at a higher intensity. What's the depth of your tank, height of the radions for the water level and what type of lighting are you coming from?

i have my corals acclimated to 65% at this time. the lights are 8 1/2 inches from the water, and the tank is 20 inches deep. i want to have a 7hr photoperiod.
It also depend if you run at 14K, 18K or 20K or customer setting. take a look of the wattage also. if you run 20K at 80%, it maybe about the same with 14K at 50%.
Thank you for the response. I don't think i asked the right question. I have my photo-period configured, what i want to configured is my "viewing period" so it doesn't attribute to my photo-period giving my corals more light then they need. i think i have it figured out.
