i have 120w led system no dimmer. i would like to add a dimmer or something to it because i am getting way too much light and have to raise the fixture away from my tank around 15 inches. im not sure what height i need to have them at to make my corals happy if i dont have a dimmer

You have to take it apart and reverse engineer to determine how long the strings are and what current/voltage they are fed with. Then you will have to buy dimmable drivers that match those parameters. Its doable, but probably almost as much work as just putting together a DIY fixture.

why not sell that 1 and get a dimmable model
