LED's and sunlight

I have been doing a ton of reading about led's and what type of light corals thrive in.

I previously posted about blue 50/50 LEDs and found out that the 450nm to 500nm seem to be the best light for corals to thrive. I know lots of debate has gone into this and by no means am i an expert.

so here is the question - if light from and LED, t5 or metal haly @ 7500k hits the water - do they not all create the same depth refraction?

red , yellow, green , blue and violet?

The reason I am asking is due to the trend of full spectrum LED systems.

why would LED's be treated different than other forms of light.

please if you have insight let me know.
