Led's for a 40 gallon breeder

Hello, I am new to the hobby and I recently purchased a 40 gallon breeder. I am looking to buy a led fixture and by budget is around $150. I would like to be able to keep a mixed reef with sps and lps. I have seen some cheap chinese led's on ebay, what is your guys' take on those?

Honestly? You get what you pay for with LEDs for now because the technology is so new. Maybe 3-5 years down the road they will be at the same cost as t-5s are now. But if your looking for sps and lps, a nice t-5 seems to be in your budget.

Reefbreeders, Maxspect, Rapid LED all make nice units for not a ton of money.

Stay away from the kind of stuff you find at Petco....Fluval and Marineland advertise reef-capable LED kits but they are not really suitable.

I have a reefbreeders photon 24 over my 40 breeder and couldn't be happier.
