Lee's Skimmer

i'm planning on using a lee's skimmer in my mantis tank.
Any comments/opinions on this skimmer?

Never used one. Do a search on this site and I don't think you'll find many good things being said about them.

when i had a smaller tank i had the smaller version. works fine, but the wooden air blocks clog and must be replaced fairly often. pulls skimmate fine as long as the wooden air block is fresh.

I have one on my 12 gal reef. It has an Eclipse hood, and I was able to put the collection cup in the area of the hood next to the filtration, so I didn't need all of the hanger gizmos.

Works great, but buy a bunch of airstones online or mailorder to have on hand. Sometimes they last for a month or two, other times only 2 weeks.
