Lemonpeel Angel

I just put a dwarf lemonpeel angel into my 24g nano cube and i'd like to slowly start adding corals. I was told that the lemonpeel has a better temprament than many coral beauties or flame angels. I'd like to hear everyones experiences with the lemonpeels and corals. Thanks!!!

actually i have heard that they are more likly to nip at corals than other angels. I have had one before in a FOWLR tank and i wouldn't risk putting one in a reef tank.

How big is it currently? You know they do get up to 6" long?

Anyway, I have also heard they are more prone to nip at corals and clams than the other dwarf angels. They may be a little more peaceful though.

6" would be a monster LP !

Like others, I've heard its one of the worst dwarf angels for nipping corals I'm afraid...

I wouldn't place a lemon peel in anything smaller than a 30 gallon tank (36" long) and definitely wouldn't chance one with corals.

I just moved, and moved my lemonpeel to my 75, from my 58. My 58 is mostly SPS. Within one day of the move (and the Lemonpeel being out of the tank) I had wonderful PE during the day. I had never actually seen him pick at them, but that is the only difference in the tank. Here is hoping he will pick at my mushrooms ;)

Consider yourself lucky. I have 4 clams and mine went straight for the clams as soon as he went in the tank.

It's my own fault since I bought him. Hopefully soon enough I'll find a home for him that will make everyone happy. I'm going to upgrade my daughters little tank to one that he can go into.

A nice yellow angle fish that never gave me any problems for 5 years is a Heraldi angle fish. But then again one man's good luck is anothers worst nightmare..lol

I tried a flame angel and it immediatley begin nipping at my coral. Everyone has told me all angels will nip, so I would recommend not putting one in your tank. They are very hard to catch once in the tank. Best advice D0n't do it!!

Not all angels nip, it's really a crapshoot. I've got five angels in all (white-tailed pygmy, cherub pygmy, flame, coral beauty and flagfin), none of which have touched my corals so far. That said, I bought them all knowing the possibility exists and while I won't under any circumstances give up these gorgeous fish, I'm willing to remove the corals if needed.
Lemonpeels have a reputation for nipping, most people give 50/50 odds - if you add corals, I'd try things he may be less likely to go for like GSP, shrooms or leathers and avoid those more often eaten by angels like Xenia, brains, candycane etc. I had a halfblack who loved euphyllia corals so maybe stay away from those as well.

i got a lemon peel angel on monday and he's had a couple of good hard looks at my brain coral but hasn't nipped anything
