T5HO is better. IMO.

Not to hijack, but which is better, T5 or VHO?

Without a doubt my Tek Light T-5 HO's are responsible for the health and growth of these corals!

Here is my tank again, a few weeks after installing the T5's......notice it's not as blue anymore, but still very vibrant:D

IMHO, 8x 54W T5HO (if they're individually reflected) is WAAAAAY too much for a 75G. My roommate runs 4x54 W over 90G and I run 3x54 on my 55G. I used to run 4x but found that I was losing things like zoos everytime I replaced my bulbs (oversaturation). I have since switched to 3x and everything is groovy.

My roommate's 90G looks incredible (he has a mixed tank, but his SPS that he has in there does very well) under his 4x 54W setup.

This is all assuming though that the bulbs are individually reflected. If not, might as well go with PC.

Yes i would agree with psi, i have a 75g with 4/54w with individual reflectors and all my sps and lps do very well. it is still a young tank but i replaced the bubls the other month and lost a zoo colony which was up high in the tank.

My 65 w/ T-5s

My 65 w/ T-5s

Hi,

Here's my 65 with 6 x 39w Tek Light. I couldn't be happier with this fixture and the light output of the T-5s.

T-5 actinics only pics

Here are some pics under my Tek's actinics only. The first pic is my Monti. cap. frag which is up at the top of the tank. The next two pics are my frogspawn and GSM clown and BTAs, which are both at the bottom (65's are 24" tall and the fixture is about 6" off the top with no shield).

I think it's really important to note whether or not your lamps are individually reflected when posting pictures. It makes a significant difference in amount of light that reaches the tank (to the point that I think non-individually reflected T5HO pretty much equals power compact).

Here is a pic of my 29g. I have a nova extreme wtih 4bulbs. 1-10k, 1-20k, and 2 420nb acintics. They all share the same reflector.
